She is an innocent mess; never really thought she could be trapped but somehow and somewhere she has to detangle the knots woven around her knowingly or unknowingly. But the most wonderful fact among all these is that God always makes the life of this child of his easier by sending the warmth and presence of some really nice people around her when she needs them.
Again with this sunset, she did not make any new promises, just asked for the grace and blessings. She did not ask anything but thanked him. A prayer is always unspoken, it need not to be shouted in ears.
Breeze, setting sun, flowers, aroma of tea, lake and a sub urban city, what else could be asked for her. Just some sweet memories were passing by making the presence more blissful. All the knots which were not worth paying so much attention to automatically unknotted themselves.
Sometimes, a gentle pause brings out the balance and washes off the trash.
I have been craving to write about something since a long time but never something really holds my mind for a long time. And on 1st January ’19, something happened ; although a very small and casual happening but for me it’s a reminder to something which we miss to hold in our daily lives.
I was travelling back to my city that day and I was about to meet my father at the platform. We were going to board different trains after that. So basically, going in different directions later. We met at the platform itself and had few conversations in short span of time. When the time came to depart our ways, he handed over a packet of biscuits. I saw that he managed to meet me but feeling guilty that he did not brought anything for me. That moment is unforgettable when I felt that I am still a little kid in front of him. We always know that we would remain the same kids to our parents, but instances as such are big reminder for this truth. I told him that I will get my meal and I have sufficient stuff with me. But for him, it was not sufficient. He kept it in my bag saying that you take it with tea, keep it because you usually get hungry after few hours. And then, he left.
Leaving away from our loved and dear ones we sometimes don’t realize their emotions and feelings. They always keep the first image of ours in their eyes and live by that. Our needs will be same in their eyes forever. When it comes to parents, for them however old and efficient we become, our needs and necessities will be same in their eyes as they have seen us while growing into adults. We grow in our heads, but they remain the same in their emotions.
Certain feelings and incidents are very personal, but they are always worth sharing.
In the process of growing up from a Kid to a big man in this life, we gain so much. When we were kids we often think of the moments to grow up and enjoy a bit of our independence. But it does not come easy, we have to pay a heavy price for it by shading the layers of innocence and childlike qualities. I wonder that as a child we never strive for God’s blessings because it doesn’t matter whether he sanctions our actions or not. But as we start shading the layers of our inner childishness, we seek for divine intervention to prevent us from our own deeds and misdeeds. Generally, we keep asking him for something or prevent us from something, but as a child when we stood in front of divine there was nothing in the head, just us who were ready to absorb whatever thrown at us. A child has faith beyond any reasoning and doubts, not only in divine but also in human. I have read somewhere that when you throw up a small kid in the air, he/she giggles, does not cry because he/she has the faith that the person standing down would hold him. But the same kid has to struggle to live without fear and with ultimate faith, once the brain starts capturing the outer noise. In this noise, the inner atmosphere of sensitivity and receptivity becomes fragile and cracks down. Fear and insecurity start building up. As a child we lived without any fear; even the fear of falling while taking the baby steps was not there. Every unsuccessful attempt as a child made us more delighted to strive for it. But now we need to learn those things again as a teaching; somewhere in the cycle of growth we lost many layers to embrace adulthood but, in those layers, we also lost our very true nature which is full of compassion, innocence, boundless joy and contentment. Now, we struggle to find the reasons to be happy and when we were children always reasons were created to make us unhappy for some time.
We cannot remain untouched by the external process, it does affect us with or without our willingness. But it is necessary to preserve that child within us that let us remain attached to our inner being without getting lost and misplaced. I believe that bonding is the most essential thing which will help us to dance through our lives.
No matter how much we human can create beautiful and useful things for well-being and comfort of ourselves. But what is in the hand of creator is beyond our perception and imagination. A very minute aspect of this creation cannot be known by us through our small part of intellect. This thing just came to me when I was looking through the Mor-Pankh (Peacock Feather). It’s just a masterpiece. I think that even if I will try to make such a masterpiece with the blend of colours I would fail. It is not in the hand of any human mind to create such a masterpiece. The proportionate blending of colours in every streak of the feather is phenomenal. No doubt, it is the foremost jewel of Lord Krishna itself. Everything in the universe whose beauty and magnificence is beyond human perception seems blue; from ocean to Sky; and Lord Krishna and Lord Shiva himself. Perhaps that’s why Mor-Pankh is created with the play of Colour Blue. The ecstatic nature of Peacocks which they display while dancing in the rain is something which Human being should perceive. That’s why Peacock are so dear to lord and even in Hindu tradition it is placed with Goddess of Knowledge, compassion and benevolence , Devi Sarasvati. This is a very minute aspect of the creation but larger than human understanding. Similarly, every aspect of the creation if analysed cannot be understood , but if tried to perceive through experience would seem a phenomenon which is extremely beautiful and blissful but at the same time far beyond the reach of human intellect. That’s why it is said to listen to the heart, because what is in the hand of experience and feeling which come through the heart cannot be fetched through just human intellect. Because intellect gives the touch of life only on surface , it would never allow to take deeper dive into the life; it is wonderful only where it is necessary.
When I go through the word “Above“, there is a feeling of divine presence because we normally connect the divine presence somewhere at the highest point in the Universe. I feel if we are really connected to the divine presence in our heart even with a single stretch, a lot of emotions will flow automatically with the mention of the word “ Divine”. It’s a very pure and raw emotion that comes straight from the heart without any rational interpretation of the mind. Perhaps that’s why it is said “When there is battle between the mind and the heart, follow heart”, because it never misguides you. The path of the heart may seem illogical to follow sometimes and may be difficult to travel by , but there is the presence of utmost peace and purity in the thoughts that the rationalization of the mind is no longer functional after some time. It leads us to a way where we are supposed to be by the Divine plan. A balanced mind gives the proper approach to travel the way that the Blissful Heart decides to follow. We are asked to control the thoughts of mind; maybe not to control but to align them in a constructive manner because mind has interpretation of everything and anything that get converted into thoughts. Some of them act like guide while some may act like poison. I believe that’s the time when the divine interpretation comes into picture; when you are connected to this energy, it will guide you from engulfing the poison. This interpretation comes from the voice of the heart; the choice is always ours.

It is almost eight months since my last visit to Kashmir and I still could not get over the emotions and love which I got from the people over there. Obviously how could I, when my chat box is still filled with all the images of apples and plums from the orchards of Kashmir. I spent some 6-7 days among those girls of Kashmir . I could feel that sense of belonging. It felt to me very easily that all they wanted was peace and their freedom like people in other part of country. Normal people would expect to treated as any other normal human being . Well, while browsing through those messages , a thought just came into my mind that a little approach can change a lot of things. It can be easily passed by and taken as a regular chat but I believe this small gesture means a lot to change few perceptions. Why do we cultivate so much of hate when there is an option of love and affection. I never thought that in this age when people hardly care about neighbors , I would get daily well wishes from those girls with whom I spent few days. Since there were lot of regional and cultural differences among us, so I was bit apprehensive about my acceptance among them. Well, those days were no less than a family treat and even after I have returned to my place, I could still feel those affection in their messages. I am unable to acknowledge every message but still it is treated without any offence, so unlike most of us.
Accept somebody without any judgment and prejudices and it plays a positive note on mind. We learn to hate and judge very easily but do not take the stand to love someone. Nurturing negativity can obviously destroy many things. Acceptance without any judgement is the most important part and I am privileged to be the part of that circle. Although I was a guest in their house but the love and affection which is still there in those voice seem like I did some honor. This feeling is amazing.
Today we are living in the land where value of land is much more valuable the human lives. Kashmir is one of those worst affected areas. The normal human lives are torn apart between two different lands. Such lives need acceptance and love rather than pre-conceived notions and isolation. Only land itself is not important , rather the people inhabiting those land are more valuable. Those who have to fight the battle on the field are doing so, to prevent the harmony of the country , but we can also fight the battle against the hate by mutual acceptance.
Your journey will remain valuable and your struggle will remain memorable to you, no matter how far the world around you is judgmental. You know your worth and your battle to stand amidst all the diversities.
These years away from my home has taught me tremendously. We all grow through our own learnings. We make mistakes, learn from it and move ahead. There is always a lot of apprehensions associated with a new place, I was no far apart from this thought. But once we accept a place with open arms, we always get the same affection in return. There is always a positive and negative side of any phase. I am fortunate enough that I embraced some of the good human beings as friends in the new city who contributed wonderful memories to these years. Well, when you move alone to a big metropolitan, you are not the single person who is worried about you, there is a crowd around you who is equally inquisitive about your actions and reactions. Your attitude will automatically build up a story about you. These things are little frustrating for a while, doesn’t bother much once your eyes and ears are closed to the scrap. Personally, I learned a lot from this phase, and the most important among them is the belief upon myself and my dreams. Nobody understands us better than we, ourselves. I believe that internal connection shall always be preserved. Until we are fine with ourselves, anything hardly matters. The people around me whose presence matter to me always been a source of inspiration to me somewhere. One thing is my family which keeps me rooted; another one is those few people around me whose presence is bliss to me. I am not surrounded by them all the time, but a small conversation is enough to freshen me up. I guess this is how we learn to embrace a new beginning.
Life is full of so many treasures, we should enrich us with them. People inspire me, their attitude and take towards life inspire me. The itch towards learning is the biggest asset, one could have. There is no end to this journey of seeking new qualities. To keep peace and pace with life, it’s necessary that we keep the desire for learning new things alive be it anything like, learning a new sport, appreciating the beats of music & dance, getting lost in the world of books or appreciating art. There are countless number things where we could feel the pulse of life.
So, to make this journey of life memorable and worthy, it’s necessary that we value our own dreams and desires and take every single step forward without any hesitation and fear. And value those people and relationships which add peace, strength, motivation, and fun in this journey; anything else doesn’t even matter !!
“Calling,“ a notion that symbolizes a lot of emotions at the same time concerning many things. It represents a strong emotional bond over certain connects, maybe with a place or a person. It is an eternal feeling which holds a substantial bonding which could not be ignored. Bonding with Mountains, Rivers, any particular- place or a person can be so strong that if they call that call could not be unheard.
Mountaineers take all the risk to reach those heights. These risks are threats to life. It may wonder many for whom its nothing other than madness. But those who could not resist this calling understand the significance. Even the violent wind of those hilly terrains seems to be a reminder of Heaven. A strong urge is developed to envelope yourself in the raw beauty of nature, no matter how harsh it can turn out to be. Every pain and every risk taken to cover this journey seem a small price in exchange for the boundless beauty of nature. One who has this bonding with mountains can understand this calling.
For few, books can also be an addiction. If you develop the bonding with books, then it’s an ever-lasting bonding which will never leave you alone. They have their own magic. The magic of taking the readers to an entirely different land. A land which is created out of the thoughts of the author and sheer satisfaction of the reader. The world of books is indefinite and magical; one who enters into this land will never find him alone after that. Because that longing to pick something new and start turning on the pages will always persist.
Calling can also be of a person, with whom you are connected eternally. Be it your parent, friend, beloved, any relative or maybe some stranger. This is a strong communication which does not require any physical presence, the intense emotion of the person is enough to pull you from your zone. And above all is the calling of God who always calls you when you need him the most. This is a spiritual bonding which connects the human soul with almighty.

“I earnestly wish to point out in what true dignity and happiness consists, I wish to persuade women to endeavor to acquire strength, both of mind and body…and to show that elegance is inferior to virtue, that the first object of laudable ambition is to obtain a character as a human being regardless of the distinction of sex……”
Wollstonecraft belonged to an era which was tempered by seventeenth century English Philosopher John Locke’s revolutionary ideas and fervour. The spirit of radicalism was further empowered by French revolution which had as its stated ideals as liberty, equality, and fraternity. This phase of social and political turmoil pushed Wollstonecraft to come out with her political thinking and ideas regarding Women’s education and rights which were documented as “ Thoughts on the education of Daughters” followed by “ A Vindication of the Rights of Man” and “ A Vindication of the Rights of Woman” . Her works were more analytical which deals with the melancholy of social status of women, marked by debilitated education, no economic independence, and no career choice. According to her, Women’s rights were to be seen not in the closet of their own but as a part of an ongoing movement for human upliftment and development. This should be seen in the context of the issue of human rights in general and for both men and women’s part of the revolution. She said that education is integral to the development of individual identity, to let the mind work freely irrespective of external impressions and associations. And this is essential in case of women when they had always been subjugated and hence more bound in an irrational way to first impressions. Their mind had always been tutored to please others, far from seeing the world in clear light of reasoning and understanding. She wrote: “Taught from their infancy that beauty is woman’s scepter, the mind shapes itself to the body, and, roaming round its gilt cage, only seeks to adorn its prison”. Instead of being the slaves of domination and enforced opinions, women should develop their own thought process. They should have subsequent access to a career and business. Defective education of women is the cause of social and personal ills. She believed that educated and well-versed women are essential to our society since they nurture the future generation of the country. They can be seen as companions to their husbands rather than attractive docile figures meant for pleasure. To further nourish the concept of equality of education, she argued that schooling should be co-educational where education and knowledge should be imparted to children irrespective of their gender and demand of work in future. This approach will help to cultivate the general human thinking towards broader perspectives of life, be it granting the equal status to women in society. She also laid emphasis on educating children to reason rather than accepting the facts as presented. In fact, the groundwork for her revolution for women’s rights was prepared on the basis of reasoning and observation of ordinary life.
Through her works, Wollstonecraft became the pioneer of feminism. She challenged the existing social norms and refused to accept it. Instead, she became the political voice for women’s right whose legacy crossed the borders of England and travelled across the globe that is live 200 years after her premature death.
