“You have the right to work, but for the work’s sake only. You have no right to the fruits of work.”

Its very easy to remember, and super easy to preach someone else. But I don’t remember any of my actions are without pausing for the results. Many saints, sages and greater human beings lived on the planet, who only performed their duties and lived for what they were intended to be. They never cared for the results , rewards and recognition of those actions.

I also witnessed a man, who completed the journey on this land after performing each and every duty he was entitled to, without looking for any recognition and acknowledgement. It takes a lot of discipline to be a man of value and integrity. And it is the result of his unwavering devotion and dedication towards his passion or worship whatever I can say, that when he left this mortal world, only the manuscripts of his unpublished works can be found in the cupboard. People leave wealth and assets when they leave, but he never cared to accumulate them. A man so much involved in his work, that he literally did not care for any modern trends of marketing the works and let the world be known to it. He knew to write and publish his works through his own money, and that’s what he did throughout his life. Read extensively and wrote extensively, but never cared if anyone acknowledges or rewards him. Wish I could ever learn that form of worship which gives so much bliss and solace to the soul that any unnecessary social noise becomes irrelevant. A versatile writer , Padmashree Dr. Jagdish Prasad Singh has left behind a rich oeuvre of 22 Novels in Hindi( 12 published) 22 Novels in English and 200 Short stories and 16 dramas . A living saint , he dedicated his life for literature, writing till the last day. At the age of 90, he was still reading and writing.

My little mind tries to comprehend him and his actions, but I fail every time. Perhaps such individuals cannot be fit into any framework of mind. They can only be felt , can never be understood.
